Gibson Pre Owned 1966/1967 ES335 Electric Guitar

A rare chance to secure a very clean 66/67 Gibson ES335. A year of many transitions for the 335, our example features the slightly narrower nut width of 1-9/16" making for a very playable neck with a 50s style profile. Chrome hardware, plastic saddles, dual ring Kluson machineheads, cherry red finish (with a deeper fade on the back of the neck) are all period correct. A change to a stop tail bridge from Trapeze is a common mod for these era instruments, the two small filled holes looking entirely right amongst the light fade, and gentle ageing of the finish! Some play marks, wear on the back of the neck all suggest an instrument cared for but played in its long lifetime. Spending hours carefully spec and date checking an instrument takes time so occasionally we just give an instrument a function test. This beauty plugged in however showed something a bit special so we took it off to our amp demo room and cranked it through a range of amps. Wow! Superb crunch, warm blues tone and clean jangle all present. Single or mixed the pickups sounded killer. A great investment or collectible but this one begs to be played!
